All 17 of Northern Illinois University’s intercollegiate athletic team have surpassed the academic standards measured by the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s Academic Progress Rate for 2008-09, marking the fifth consecutive year that every NIU team has made the grade. The NCAA released its complete 2008-09 Division I APR report Wednesday.

Northern Illinois track and field sophomore Megan Gregory qualified for the NCAA West Region Preliminary Round in the 100-meter hurdles after posting a strong performance at the 2010 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships this past weekend. The NCAA West Region Preliminary round will take place at the University of Texas’ Mike A. Myer Track and Soccer Stadium in Austin, Texas, on May 28.

The Northern Illinois track and field team kicked-off competition at the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships Thursday, when Rachel Pinson and Mary Bull led the Huskies in field events at UB Stadium. Pinson and Bull were the only Huskies to compete in day one of three-day competition in Buffalo, N.Y.

The Northern Illinois track and field team hosted the second annual Huskie Open, Thursday, where the Huskies battled extremely windy weather conditions to walk-away with multiple first-place finishes and personal-best records. The Huskies hosted Robert Morris College at the NIU Soccer and Track & Field Complex in their final regular-season competition before the Mid-American Conference Championships.

The Northern Illinois track and field team continued its record-breaking outdoor season Saturday as the Huskies shattered two NIU school records in the second and final day of competition at the Drake Relays, in Des Moines, Iowa.
The Northern Illinois track and field team reset the NIU Distance Medley Relay school record Friday afternoon at the Drake Relays in Des Moines , Iowa . The Huskies have now set and reset nine school records in just four competitions during their 2010 outdoor campaign.

After undergoing an 18-month, campus-wide effort to study its intercollegiate athletics program as part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I athletics certification program, Northern Illinois University has received the highest classification of "certified," the NCAA announced Thursday. This is the third time Northern Illinois has successfully gone through the organization's certification process.

The 83rd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays proved to be the one for the Huskie record books Friday afternoon when the Northern Illinois women’s track and field team shattered two NIU school records in the second day of competition at the Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.   The Huskies captured school records in the 100-meter hurdles and 4x100-meter relay at the event.

The Northern Illinois track and field team opened its 2010 campaign with a strong performance Saturday as the Huskies captured three first-place finishes and broke a school record at the Eastern Michigan Invitational in Ypsilanti, Mich. Jenner Sio claimed two first-place titles at the invite, while Megan Gregory reset the 60 meter hurdle record for the second-straight competition.
