LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Northern Illinois women's track and field team kicked-off its 2010 outdoor season in fine fashion Saturday when Megan Gregory broke the NIU school record in the 100-meter hurdles and the Huskies recorded six top-three performances at the UNLV Track Classic at the Myron Partridge Stadium and Sheila Tarr-Smith Field in Las Vegas, Nev.

MUNCIE, Ind.- The Northern Illinois women's track and field team concluded its regular season at the Ball State Quadrangular as the Huskies posted 10 top-five performances and multiple personal-best records to wrap up their regular season Friday at the BSU Field Sports Building in Muncie, Ind. The Huskies faced Mid-American Conference foes Ball State, Western Michigan, and Miami (Ohio) at the quadrangular.

Sophomore sprinter Rhonda Lee led the way for the Northern Illinois track and field team at the Iowa State Classic when she set a NIU school record in the 60-meter dash to conclude the second and final day of competition at the Lied Recreation Center in Ames, Iowa, on Saturday.

Northern Illinois head track and field coach Connie Teaberry announced the addition of the three student athletes to the 2010-11 track and field roster, Friday.   Kelsi Frank, Erica Miller and Claire McAuley have each signed a National Letter of Intent to continue their athletic and academic careers at Northern Illinois.

Senior Brittany Houghton led the Northern Illinois women's track and field team with two first-place titles Saturday, when the Huskies competed in the Panther Open, hosted by Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Roneisha Frye, Courtney Oldenburg and Megan Gregory also walked away with first-place finishes at the Panther Open.

The Northern Illinois track and field team opened its 2010 campaign with a strong performance Saturday as the Huskies captured three first-place finishes and broke a school record at the Eastern Michigan Invitational in Ypsilanti, Mich. Jenner Sio claimed two first-place titles at the invite, while Megan Gregory reset the 60 meter hurdle record for the second-straight competition.

Kevin Dwyer, a two-time NCAA decathlon national qualifier and 2008 Mid-American Conference decathlon champion, was named assistant coach of the Northern Illinois women's track and field team, women's track and field coach Connie Teaberry announced Wednesday. Dwyer will coach the heptathlon, pole vault, and all throwing events.
