DES MOINES, Iowa – The Northern Illinois women’s tennis team completed its first weekend of the spring season with a close-fought win over SouthernIllinois University Edwardsville. The Huskies split the match 3-3 in singles play and relied on a 3-0 record from its doubles teams to decide the winner.

ROCKFORD – The Northern Illinois women's tennis team picked up where it left off on Friday during Day Two of the ITA Second Chance Regional. The Huskies grabbed three singles wins as well as a doubles win during play on Saturday at Boylan Tennis Center.

YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Northern Illinois women’s tennis team was eliminated from the Mid-American Conference Tournament on Thursday afternoon as it fell to Ball State. The Cardinals defeated the Huskies 4-0 indoors at the Chippewa Tennis Club.

Ryun Ferrell’s bunch went one better Saturday than last year’s dual meet with Western Illinois, defeating the Leathernecks in convincing fashion, 7-0, at the Boylan Tennis Center. The Huskies easily won all three doubles matches, not allowing a WIU pair to come within five points, before sweeping singles play, closing out each match in straight sets.

The Northern Illinois women’s tennis dropped tonight’s dual meet, 7-0, to Marquette at Helfaer Tennis Stadium as the Golden Eagles were still riding momentum after an upset over No. 49 Iowa earlier in the day.

ROCKFORD – The Northern Illinois women’s tennis team (1-4) picked up its first win of the season today, knocking off Bradley 6-1 at the Boylan Tennis Center. Last season, the Huskies also picked up their first win of the season in their fifth match before rattling off six-straight victories.

GRIFFITH, Ind. – The Northern Illinois women’s tennis team (0-4) dropped a dual meet to Illinois-Chicago (3-2) at The Match Point Tennis Club this afternoon. The Huskies were defeated by the Flames 7-0.
