NIU Huskies - Women's Cross Country

For the first time in school history, Northern Illinois University has been selected to serve as the host of the 2011 NCAA Division I Midwest Regional Cross Country Championships, the NCAA announced on June 24. The Huskies and DeKalb will host the Midwest Regional Championships on Nov. 12, 2011 at the NIU "North 40".

The top Mid-American Conference institutional awards were handed out Wednesday as Kent State was awarded the Reese Trophy representing the top men's athletic program and the Jacoby Trophy representing the top women's athletic program.

After undergoing an 18-month, campus-wide effort to study its intercollegiate athletics program as part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I athletics certification program, Northern Illinois University has received the highest classification of "certified," the NCAA announced Thursday. This is the third time Northern Illinois has successfully gone through the organization's certification process.

The Northern Illinois women's cross country team wrapped up its 2009 season Saturday at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships in Springfield, Mo. when junior Sunsea Shaw lead the Huskies with a six-kilometer time of 22:43.0 to finish first for the Huskies.

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Courtney Oldenburg led the Northern Illinois women's cross country team for the fourth-consecutive week Saturday, finishing first for the Huskies at the Roy Griak Invitational in St. Paul, Minn.. The Huskies placed 16th, out of 18 teams, at the invite.

Freshman Courtney Oldenburg helped lead the Northern Illinois women's cross country team to a fourth-place finish Saturday, after placing eighth at the second annual Huskie Open. The Huskies finished the race in fourth place with a team score of 112 points.
