WATERLOO, Iowa – The Northern Illinois women's tennis team did not drop a single set in three-of its singles matches, and cruised to three more victories in doubles play, recording a convincing 7-0 win over South Dakota at the Black Hawk Tennis Club in Waterloo, Iowa Saturday afternoon. The Huskies have now captured four-straight dual match wins.
Northern Illinois senior Natalie Blum celebrated senior day with a 9.800 on floor exercise and turned in solid performances on vault and uneven parallel bars, but it was not enough as NIU fell to Central Michigan, 195.850-191.900 Sunday at the Convocation Center.

KENT, Ohio - The Northern Illinois gymnastics team continues to raise the bar on the 2010 season as for the sixth straight meet, the Huskies recorded their highest team score of the year despite falling to the MAC defending champions and preseason favorites Kent State, 194.575-192.775. Overall, NIU took second in the triangular meet as the Huskies outdistanced Rutgers.

Junior Marke Freeman scored 33 points, but her career-high scoring output wasn't enough, as the Huskies fell in a 64-62 nail-biter against Ball State on Saturday at the Convocation Center.
Competing as an all-arounder for the first time in her four-year career, Northern Illinois senior Natalie Blum  won three events, including the all-around, to lead the Huskies to a season-opening victory over Wisconsin-La Crosse, 188.450-174.300 Sunday at the Convocation Center.
