Northern Illinois athletics ranks among the top universities in the Mid-American Conference, and has once again topped the national average in the Graduation Success Rate of its student-athletes, according to data released Wednesday by the NCAA.
Northern Illinois freshman Axel Lagerlof capped off his first season with the Huskies by being named Mid-American Conference Newcomer of the Year, announced today by the conference office. This is the second-straight year that a Huskie has won the award, with Maksym Bartiuk winning the honor last year.
The Northern Illinois men’s tennis team won the second match of its three-match road trip on Saturday, defeating IUPUI, 4-2. Roman Turtygin won the clinching match as the Huskies and Jaguars did not play doubles due to time constraints.
