DeKalb senior Danielle Dlabal was on the fence a couple weeks ago about continuing her running career in college. But after seeing the Northern Illinois cross country team running together through a rain storm recently, Dlabal decided to give it a go.

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Junior midfielder Karim Darbaki scored the lone goal as the Northern Illinois men’s soccer team finished the regular season with a 1-0 victory over Buffalo on a wet and cold Friday night at UB Stadium. With the win, NIU clinches a spot in next weekend’s Mid-American Conference Tournament at Akron.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Northern Illinois men’s soccer team saw its three-match shutout streak come to an end with a 2-0 loss at Western Michigan on Tuesday afternoon. Goals from Jason Grant in the 78th minute and Erik Kelly in the 86th minute helped give the Broncos the victory.

DEKALB  -- Sophomore Isaac Kannah broke the deadlock in the 84th minute as the Northern Illinois men’s soccer team defeated West Virginia, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon at the NIU Soccer Complex.

EVANSTON – Freshman Charlie Oliver scored 45 seconds into overtime to lift the Northern Illinois men’s soccer team a 1-0 victory over Northwestern on Wednesday night at Lakeside Field. Oliver’s 91st minute tally was the first goal of his career.

DEKALB  -- Senior goalkeeper Jordan Godsey recorded his fifth shutout of the season, and the 31st of his Huskie career, and the Northern Illinois men’s soccer team played to a 0-0 draw against Bowling Green on Saturday afternoon at the NIU Soccer Complex. Godsey’s shutout extended his school record for career clean sheets.

VALPARAISO, Ind. – Freshman forward Matt Pritchard scored the first goal of his collegiate career, but it wasn’t enough as the Northern Illinois men’s soccer team was unable to recover from a two-goal halftime deficit, falling to Valparaiso 2-1 on Wednesday night.

DEKALB  -- The Northern Illinois men’s soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to third-ranked Akron on Saturday afternoon at the NIU Soccer Complex. The Huskies created a number of excellent chances but were unable to find the back of the net as Akron collected its seventh-straight shutout.

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Northern Illinois men’s soccer team pushed fourth-ranked Marquette to the limit Tuesday night before ultimately falling to the Golden Eagles, 1-0, at Valley Fields. Senior goalkeeper Jordan Godsey (Ocean Springs, Miss./Ocean Springs) made four saves in goal for the Huskies while commanding his box with a number of key catches and punches of crosses against the unbeaten Golden Eagles.

DEKALB  -- Junior midfielder Gael Rivera scored his fourth goal of the season in the 68th minute to lift the Northern Illinois men’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Hartwick on Saturday afternoon at the NIU Soccer Complex. With the win, the Huskies improve to 2-0 in Mid-American Conference play, 3-5-2 overall.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The Northern Illinois men’s soccer team fell to fifth-ranked New Mexico, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon in the final match of the Lobo Invitational. Sunday’s victory was New Mexico’s 17th-straight home win; the Lobos have lost just once overall in the past two seasons.

Junior midfielder Gael Rivera and junior forward James Stevenson scored for the Huskies before Josh Wren got the game-winner for the Pioneers in the 109th minute.

DEKALB, Ill. -- The Northern Illinois men’s soccer team played its third-straight overtime match and played to its second consecutive draw on Sunday afternoon as it tied Drake, 1-1, in the final match of the NIU adidas Invitational. Junior midfielder Gael Rivera pulled the Huskies even in the 54th minute after NIU had conceded a first half goal.

DEKALB -- The Northern Illinois men’s soccer team played to a scoreless draw with Rhode Island on Friday afternoon in the NIU adidas Invitational. The Huskies allowed just one shot on goal in 110 minutes of play but were unable to find the net on the other end as the match finished even.

GREEN BAY, Wis. – After coming back from down a goal, the Northern Illinois men’s soccer team fell 2-1 in double overtime on Friday night at UW Green Bay. Junior midfielder Gael Rivera scored for the Huskies in the 69th minute but, despite dominating large stretches of the game, NIU conceded a game-winner in the 102nd minute.
