Northern Illinois athletics ranks among the top universities in the Mid-American Conference, and has once again topped the national average in the Graduation Success Rate of its student-athletes, according to data released Wednesday by the NCAA.
The Northern Illinois men’s golf team fired a one-under 287 to claim second-place after the first day of the Cardinal Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of Louisville. Freshman Nick Schiavi shot a three-under 69 and is tied for fifth-place individually after the first 18 holes. All five of NIU’s competitors are in the top-35 heading into Tuesday’s final round.
Junior Bryce Emory shot a three-over 147 to lead the Northern Illinois men’s golf team on the first day of the Saint Mary’s Invitational. The Huskies are in 13th-place after the 36-hole first day of competition on the Monterrey Bay.
