Redshirt senior Griffin Bauman paced the Huskies with a 36-hole total of 149, he enters Saturday’s third round tied for ninth overall.
DADE CITY, Fla. -- The seventh-seeded Northern Illinois men’s golf team defeated second-seeded Akron in the opening round of the Mid-American Match Play before falling to sixth-seeded Bowling Green in the semifinals on Monday at the Lake Jovita South Course at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club. Senior Kurtis Luedtke posted a pair of match wins on the first day of competition for the Huskies in the spring season.

Junior Shawn Foley also recorded a top-five finish with a final round 76 to tie for fifth as the Northern Illinois men’s golf team finished with a final round 301 to claim seventh in the team competition.

Weibring Intercollegiate on Sunday at Illinois State’s Weibring Golf Club. NIU posted team score of 303 in Sunday’s final round, identical to its score in Saturday afternoon’s second round, as the Huskies finished tied for 10th in the team standings.
