KENT, Ohio – Junior guard Jake Anderson (12 points) was the lone Huskie in double figures, and the Northern Illinois men’s basketball team (8-12, 4-4 MAC) shot a season-low 29.5 percent from the field, falling in a convincing 76-46 defeat versus host Kent State (15-7, 6-2 MAC) at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center on Monday night.
Northern Illinois will play at Eastern Illinois at 6 p.m. on Feb. 20 as part of the ESPNU BracketBusters. The game will be televised locally in Charleston, Ill. on WEIU.

PLEASANT, Mich. – Junior guard Xavier Silas poured in a game-high 26 points, and junior center Sean Kowal posted his second double-double of the season with 12 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, but host Central Michigan (9-8, 4-1 MAC) outscored the Northern Illinois men’s basketball team (8-9, 4-1) 16-8 over the final 4:08, and held off the Huskies for an 81-75 win at Rose Arena on Saturday.
