Alpharetta Milton (Ga.) High School football coach Gary Sylvestri has confirmed to the Daily Chronicle that Eagles wide receiver Malik Mitchell has committed to Northern Illinois.
ESPN reported that Mitchell verbally committed to NIU on Wednesday. ESPN ranks Mitchell as a three-star recruit, while Rivals and Scout have him as a two-star prospect. Mitchell also had offers from Toledo and Western Michigan, according to the recruiting sites.
Rivals has Mitchell listed at 6-3, 170 pounds. The site has 11 commits for the Huskies, and Mitchell will become the 12th. Rod Carey's first recruiting class will be a small one, but it's looking pretty solid.
