Thad Ward is Northern Illinois' new wide receivers coach.

Ward, who coached wideouts at Western Michigan last season, replaces Frisman Jackson, who will join former Huskies head coach Dave Doeren at N.C. State following the Orange Bowl.

Ward spent the 2011 season as the wide receivers coach/passing game coordinator at Gardner-Webb, and coached running backs at Western Illinois from 2005-10.
