Northern Illinois defensive line coach/co-defensive coordinator/recruiting coordinator Ryan Nielsen will join Dave Doeren's staff at N.C. State, the school announced Friday.
Nielsen will serve as the Wolfpack's defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator. The USC graduate spent two seasons on NIU's staff.
"Ryan is one of the best technicians on the defensive line that I've ever been around," Doeren said in an N.C. State news release. "He played the game at a very high level and learned to coach from a number of great defensive minds. He has great energy and passion for his players and is a tireless and energetic recruiter."
Earlier this week, new Huskies head coach Rod Carey said he anticipates his entire coaching staff to coach in the Orange Bowl.
