Sycamore native Jason Schepler was one of three Northern Illinois football players selected to the Capital One Academic All-American Division I Football Team. The team was chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Schepler, the Huskies' senior tight end, and senior defensive tackle Nabal Jefferson were named to the second team, while defensive end Alan Baxter earned first-team honors. NIU had three players on the first and second teams, the most of any Division I program.
