Northern Illinois announced the addition of a home-and-home series with the University of Wyoming on Wednesday.
The Huskies will host Wyoming on Sept., 26, 2015 while NIU will travel to Laramie, Wyo. for a game on Sept. 3, 2016. The game in 2016 will be NIU's season opener.
"This is a great series for our fans and for our football team," NIU athletic director Jeff Compher said in a press release. "Wyoming will bring a highly competitive Mountain West Conference team to Huskie Stadium, and in 2016, Northern Illinois players and fans will have a chance to visit one of the most scenic states in the nation."
Wyoming and NIU have never played each other in football.
