Northern Illinois center Logan Pegram suffered a lower leg fracture during Monday morning's practice and will undergo surgery and be out indefinitely, NIU coach Dave Doeren announced Monday.
“We feel bad for Logan,” Doeren said in a news release. “We know that injuries are a part of the game, and we’ll operate under the ‘next man’ mentality and look forward to the younger guys stepping up.”
Pegram is the only returning starter on the offensive line. The senior started 12 games at guard last season before moving to center for fall camp. Sophomore Michael Gegner took reps at center with the first team Monday afternoon.
