Former Northern Illinois wide receiver Landon Cox has signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to the Associated Press.
After being passed over in the 2011 NFL Draft, Cox signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent, but was cut during training camp. He had 35 catches for 429 yards and three touchdowns as a senior at NIU in 2010.
In Tampa, Cox will be reunited with former NIU wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator P.J. Fleck, who is the Bucaneers' wide receivers coach. Fleck briefly held the NIU offensive coordinator job in February before resigning and heading to Tampa Bay.
