Northern Illinois football has one more professional draftee.
The Canadian Football League's Hamilton Tiger-Cats selected NIU defensive back Courtney Stephen with the eighth overall pick of the CFL Draft Wednesday. The selection was the first in the second round.
Stephen, a Brampton, Ontario native, played in six games for the Huskies in 2011 and had four total tackles. He played two seasons at Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario before transferring to NIU. But Stephen, who does have a year left of eligibility, does plan on playing his senior season with the Huskies according to NIU.
