Newcomb out 4-6 weeks

Northern Illinois junior defensive lineman Ron Newcomb is out four to six weeks with a foot injury. Newcomb, a Chicago Mt. Carmel product, played against Iowa State but wore a protective cast and sat out practices this week.

Also out for Saturday’s home opener is safety Demetrius Stone. The sophomore safety has a knee injury and is out week to week. The Coffeyville C.C. transfer had two tackles in his Huskies debut.
