ISU Flooding won't alter NIU opener
Iowa State athletic director Jamie Pollard told the Ames (Iowa) Tribune that last week's flood likely won't impact the Sept. 2 football season-opener between the Cyclones and Northern Illinois. Read the story here.
The flood caused significant damage to Hilton Coliseum, the university's basketball arena, with more than 12 to 14 feet of water from Squaw Creek reaching the court floor. Some water reached Jack Trice Stadium, the football facility, but the water has been cleared and no significant damage to the field occurred.
“We are comfortable that the football game will come off pretty much as normal,” Pollard told the Ames Tribune.
