NIU to introduce new women's basketball coach Tuesday

Northern Illinois will announce its new women's basketball coach at a 2 p.m. news conference today at the Convocation Center, though as of press time there is no word of who it will be.

The announcement will be made by Director of Athletics Jeff Compher and he will be joined by NIU President John Peters. The public is invited to attend the announcement. Parking is free and will be available in Lot C2. The new conference will be held in the main lobby of the Convocation Center.

The new coach replaces Carol Owens, who resigned in late April citing personal reasons. Owens just took a job last week as an associate coach at Notre Dame.
