Owens lands at Notre Dame
So much for better balance.
Former Northern Illinois women's basketball coach Carol Owens, who resigned all the way back on April 29 and cited a need to focus on her personal life, was named an associate women's basketball coach at Notre Dame today.
Owens spent 10 years as an assistant at Notre Dame before coming to NIU, where she spent five seasons at her alma mater.
"I am very happy to be back at Notre Dame," Owens said in a news release. "It's a place that is so dear to my heart and the people there have been wonderful to me. I've had such a great relationship with Coach [Muffet] McGraw over the years, but I never thought I would have the chance to work with her again, and it was an opportunity I just couldn't pass up. I'm really looking forward to getting started."
Back on April 29, Owens said this:
“I want to focus more on my personal life, and what those things are, I feel like they’re private,” Owens said. “They’re things that I hold dear to my heart.”
What does everyone think of this?
