Hill to transfer to NIU

Provided everything works out with his paperwork, Illinois offensive lineman Leon Hill intends on transferring to Northern Illinois, Hill said Sunday.

Hill redshirted his freshman season with the Fighting Illini. The 6-foot-4, 320-pound lineman was rated a four-star recruit by Rivals.com and was an IHSA All-State lineman at Leo. Hill also was listed as the 14th-best offensive guard nationally by Rivals.com and picked Illinois over Arizona, Wisconsin and Michigan State. Assuming everything works out with the transfer, Hill is a big acquisition for the Huskies.
