Silas pulls out of the draft
Northern Illinois guard Xavier Silas has pulled his name out of the NBA Draft and will return to the Huskies for his senior season, the Daily Chronicle confirmed this afternoon.
Silas had until May 8 to pull out and retain his eligibility. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound shooting guard declared for the draft earlier this month, but did not hire an agent and kept open the possibility he would be returning to school.
“I had a great opportunity to work on my game and get some valuable feedback from family and friends the past few weeks,” Silas said. “It was a great experience and I’m glad I did it. I always had the feeling that I would return to NIU for my senior season."
