NIU posts spring football roster

Northern Illinois has posted its roster for spring football.

You can see the full roster here.

Obviously, defensive end Jake Coffman is no longer on the roster after calling it a career after the International Bowl. You can also see that offensive tackle Panan Tense, who started the final two games of last season including the International Bowl, is no longer on the roster. Tense was a redshirt junior. Also, redshirt juniors Bryan Beckner (TE), Nick Kamenjarin (LB), Tyler Clasey (WR), Mike Lepper (FB) Tyler Knight (DB) and John Kremer (DB) are no longer on the roster.

Linebacker and Sycamore native Kevin Sabock, who has battled injuries throughout two seasons, is no longer on the roster either. Sabock has been granted a medical hardship waiver. He will retain his scholarship but it will not count towards NIU's limit. Redshirt freshman wide receiver Ron Walker is also not on the roster.

Defensive tackle Adam Coleman is now listed as a tight end.

Additions to the roster include: Chicago DT Rodderick Bell, K Alex Faust, and DE Daniel Green.

JUCO players: DB Demetrius Stone will wear No. 42, RB Jasmin Hopkins will sport No. 15.

WR/DB Akeem Daniels, who graduated high school in December, will wear No. 30. All numbers at this point are subject to change.

As you can also see, last year's freshmen who redshirted officially are: DL Zach Anderson, QB Tommy Coughlin, LB Ross Elliot, CB Sean Evans, QB A.J. Hill, WR Anthony Johnson, RB Antione Kirkland, OL Matt Krempel, QB Jordan Lynch, DE Stephen O'Neal, WR Riley O'Toole, OL (switched from DL) Jon Phillips, LB George Rainey, K Ryan Salerno, TB Barrington Scott, FB Calvin Smith, OL Jared Volk, CB Dominique Ware and DE Anthony Wells.
