Halftime: Buffalo 43, Northern Illinois 33

DeKALB – Buffalo has taken advantage of open opportunities and leads Northern Illinois at halftime, 43-33.

The Bulls led by as many as 14 and the Huskies cut it to in the final minute of the first half, but a buzzer-beating three-pointer by Abby Dowd pushed the lead to 10.

Buffalo is shooting 18 of 30 from the field and has made seven three-pointers. The Huskies are led by Marke Freeman's 14 points. NIU is shooting 40.6 percent from the field.

The Huskies are playing without forward Mauvolyene Adams, who is serving a one-game suspension for a violation of team rules. Adams was not on the bench for the final five minutes of Wednesday's loss to Central Michigan. Shaakira Haywood is the only post player left for the Huskies with Ebony Ellis out again with a foot injury. Haywood started and has two rebounds and a block.
