RT Kiel out for the season

Redshirt sophomore right tackle Adam Kiel will be out for the rest of the season with a right foot injury that will require surgery, Northern Illinois coach Jerry Kill said at today's weekly news conference.

Kiel left the field during the first quarter of this past Saturday's 38-31 loss at Ohio and spent the second half on crutches on the sideline.

"He'll have surgery on his foot. I'm not sure when that will be," Kill said. "I pretty much knew that during the game. He's a tough kid and he just wore out. He's battled that thing."

Kiel, who has started all 11 games at right tackle this season for the Huskies, will be replaced by Panan Tense when NIU plays at Central Michigan at noon on Friday.
