The Northern Illinois women's basketball team defeated Southern Illinois, 74-65, behind 22 points and 10 rebounds from forward Mauvolyene Adams.

NIU (3-1) made it to the free-throw line 44 times, making 35, in a disjointed game ruled by foul calls, including three technical fouls in the final minute. NIU guard Marke Freeman was 13 of 14 from the line on her way to 17 points against the Salukis (0-3).
