Welcome to the latest edition of the HuskieWire.com Power Rankings. Each week, we'll rank the MAC teams and tell you which team is on the way up and which team is headed for a fall.
With that, here are this week's rankings.
1. Central Michigan (4-1, 2-0)
Settle in, Chippewa fans, Central Michigan isn't going anywhere.
2. Northern Illinois (3-2, 1-0)
A very impressive win against Western Michigan has the Huskies thinking big.
3. Temple (2-2, 2-0)
The non-conference season was a disaster for the Owls, but it's hard to argue with a 2-0 start to conference play.
4. Ohio (3-2, 1-0)
The Bobcats pulled off a big win against Bowling Green. Ohio should stay in contention for the East title.
5. Toledo (3-2, 1-0)
Toledo showed a ton of heart in coming back at Ball State.
6. Kent State (2-3, 1-0)
Tough loss at Baylor but Kent State might hang around in the wide-open East.
7. Western Michigan (2-3, 1-1)
This is still a talented team, but the Broncos need to turn things around quickly.
8. Bowling Green (1-4, 0-1)
Staying in games until the end is fine, but eventually the Falcons have to win one.
9. Buffalo (1-4, 0-2)
Buffalo needs to string together wins to get some confidence back.
10. Akron (0-1, 1-3)
The schedule (Ohio, at Buffalo, at Syracuse, at Northern Illinois) doesn't do the Zips any favors over the next month.
11. Eastern Michigan (0-4, 0-1)
Eastern Michigan will surprise some team this season with an upset.
12. Ball State (0-5, 0-1)
How will the Cardinals respond to the loss to Toledo?
13. Miami (Ohio) (0-5, 0-2)
The RedHawks are showing some signs of improvement.
