Scouting the Flashes: NIU hasn’t beaten Kent State, a program annually near the top of the MAC, since 2003. The Golden Flashes boast a high-profile post man in senior forward Chris Evans, who’s averaging 17.1 points a game, good for second in the conference, and 7.4 rebounds a game, which ranks fourth in the league.

NIU outlook: The Huskies hit a new low in Saturday’s 42-25 loss at Eastern Michigan, shooting just 8 for 61 (13.1 percent), an NCAA record in the shot-clock era. NIU ended up setting four records for offensive futility in the loss. The Huskies rank last in the MAC in points a game (55.8) and field goal percentage (35.6 percent).
