Orange Bowl ratings up from last year
Orange Bowl ratings were up this year, according to an ESPN news release.
This year's game, a 31-10 Florida St. win against Northern Illinois, averaged a 6.5 market rating, according to Nielsen, which was up 44 percent compared to the 2012 Orange Bowl between Clemson and West Virginia. That game, 70-33 beatdown by West Virginia, did a 4.5 rating.
The Orange Bowl did an 11.1 overnight rating in Chicago, which is the second highest ESPN bowl rating in Chicago on record according to ESPN.
ESPN's other big bowl game on Tuesday, the Rose Bowl between Wisconsin and Stanford, did a 9.6 rating, and a 31.1 rating in Milwaukee.
