Northern Illinois football coach Dave Doeren held his weekly news conference on Thursday at the Yordon Center to preview Wednesday's game at home against Toledo.

The 8 p.m. kickoff (broadcast on ESPN2) at Huskie Stadium against the Rockets is a critical game for both teams. If NIU wins, the Huskies would clinch the Mid-American Conference West Division and a third consecutive bid to the Mid-American Conference title game. If Toledo wins, the Huskies' chances of a return trip to the MAC title game in Detroit would take a devastating blow.

"I think for us, that's the most important part of this week, is the winningest class in NIU history gets to go out on the field at night on national television and play," Doeren said. "We'll do everything we can as a coaching staff and as a football team to send them out the right way."
