DeKALB – An optimistic Mark Montgomery greeted reporters this afternoon at Northern Illinois' basketball media day in DeKalb.
"It comes down to making it to Quicken Loans [Arena, site of the MAC tournament] in March, to see who goes to the NCAA tournament," Montgomery said. "So, our goal is to make it to the MAC tournament and then win games and see what happens."
The Huskies are coming off a 5-26 season, Montgomery's first in DeKalb. NIU returns four starters and has eight newcomers.
