Signing day schedule of activities

A new crop of high school seniors will pledge their allegiance to Northern Illinois football Wednesday during national signing day, and the Daily Chronicle will have full coverage for you throughout the day. Here's a rundown of Wednesday's schedule of events.

8 a.m.: The letters should be flowing into NIU's athletics department early and often. NIU beat writer Ryan Wood will have a live blog with frequent updates throughout the morning, starting at 8 a.m. and continuing until Dave Doeren's afternoon news conference.

2:30 p.m.: Doeren will discuss his second recruiting class at NIU in a 2:30 p.m. news conference at the Yordon Center. Get blog updates immediately following the news conference.

6:15 p.m.: Doeren will host a question-and-answer segment with fans in the south lobby of the Convocation Center starting 45 minutes before the Huskies men's basketball team against Ohio. Convo doors will open at 6 p.m. A basketball ticket is required for admittance into the Q&A.

8 p.m.: After the day's activities finish, Wood will share his opinions on NIU's 2012 recruiting class during a live chat on HuskieWire. Make sure to bring plenty of questions.

Make sure to also pick up the Thursday edition of the Daily Chronicle for full coverage of signing day.
