Northern Illinois freshman guard/forward and Hinckley-Big Rock graduate Jenna Thorp is out for an indefinite period after tearing her left ACL and meniscus in a scrimmage with teammates earlier this week.
"I was just playing in a scrimmage with the team and I thought it was just a normal pop-out, so I didn't really think too much of it," Thorp said. "Then I had an MRI done and I found out I tore an ACL and meniscus. So that's not the good news I was hoping for."
Thorp's status for the upcoming season will depend on a doctor's visit on Wednesday and how surgery goes on the knee.
