The Northern Illinois track and field team kicked-off competition at the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships Thursday, when Rachel Pinson and Mary Bull led the Huskies in field events at UB Stadium. Pinson and Bull were the only Huskies to compete in day one of three-day competition in Buffalo, N.Y.
Pinson competed in the javelin throw for NIU, placing 10th with a throw of 115-03. Pinson’s finish placed her ahead of competitors from Miami (Ohio), Eastern Michigan, and Ball State. Bull also competed in the javelin throw, finishing 16th with a mark of 99-00.
Action will continue at the 2010 MAC Outdoor championships tomorrow, May 14, with the shot put finals at noon. Running events for the Huskies will begin at 1 p.m. with the 1,500-meter run.
